Our charity of the year, Eagles RAPS continues to go from strength to strength. Last month’s great fundraiser at Lily’s Function Centre raised a whopping $40,262.55 with the help of some very generous people from our local community. This great achievement will go towards our ultimate goal of $1 milllion that we hope to help raise for this great organisation in 2015 as part of our ‘One in a Million’ campaign.
Also announced this week on Channel Ten’s motor show, RPM was a new advocate for Eagles RAPS. Sharing his passion for Doonside where he grew up is Prodrive Racing (Australia) V8 Supercars driver and one of Australia’s most-recognised athletes, Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom.
You can see his announcment in the video below:
“Growing up as a local Doonside boy, I witnessed the challenges faced by many teenagers in the area, so in selecting a charity to represent I wanted to give back to my home town and support Eagles RAPS for the valuable work they do,” said V8 Supercars Championship leader Winterbottom as he too announced Eagles RAPS Inc. as his nominated charity for the year.
