In Australia, LinkedIn is the fourth most popular social media platform, just behind Facebook, YouTube and Blogspot. With around 80% of Australians using the medium the platform boasts a steady 2.2 million users, each spending an average of 8 minutes and 50 seconds a month on the site. Founded in December 2002 as a social networking site for professionals, LinkedIn now connects some 200 million people in over 200 countries with an estimated net worth of US$7.5 billion.
